It’s not often that I get time to sit and just play with makeup so when the time comes I do create more dramatic looks like what I’ve done here. I wanted to play with a summer look but without going the obvious route of using light, warm tones. So I simply started playing and piecing colours together, and I think the final result is a playful yet fresh look without being seasonal. Green and brown perfectly compliment one another and yet feel so unique and make for an interesting pairing.
In this look, I am wearing Freak from the Urban Decay Electric Palette on the bottom lash line and outer half of the lid with Colourpop Supershock Shadow in Koosh on the inner portion of the lid and inner corner. These shades look amazing together – I’m so glad I discovered this pairing because I will be wearing it a lot over the summer! It really brings out the green in my eyes and doesn’t feel too heavy even for daytime (in my opinion, although I’m sure some would disagree). I used Illamasqua Precision Ink in Abyss to create a wing, which I immediately regretted as I personally think it takes away from the lightness of this look. I’ve kind of gone off black liners entirely so not sure why I tired it out, but that’s what happened.
For the cheeks I used 2 colours from the Benefit Cheekathon Palette, Hoola to contour, and Dallas just barely on the apples of the cheeks. I highlighted just about everywhere using The Balm Mary Lou-Manizer because it just kind of is the best! On the lips is the not-so-summery colour ColourPop Grunge Lippie Stix but it just tied the blush in so well so I gravitated toward it. This look would be amazing with a peach, coral or nude too of course!
