3 AFFORDABLE UNEXPECTED LIP COLOURS FOR FALL + MINI REVIEWS

If you’re into seasonal makeup trends, you’ll know that berries and reds are the rage at the moment. Let’s take a break from the trends and try a few other shades that are not as traditional for this season. These colours are all perfect for fall, and best of all they are affordable ways to try something a little different!

Milani Amoire Matte Metallic Lip Creme in Matte About You is the perfect shade (and finish) as we transition from summer into autumn. The bold coral usually reserved for summer takes a fun twist with it’s unique gold shift and warm undertone. Although this formula does set matte, it has so much luminosity in the finish! It would be totally wearable all year round in my opinion and I really think that you should try to rock this shade this fall as I know I’ll be wearing it lots! It’s so comfortable and lasts sets down matte, making it pretty much fool proof for day or night!

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Dr. M is the most unexpected lip shade no matter the season. This deep green shade is the most experimental colour I’ve ever tried personally and I actually quite love it and wish I had more confidence to wear it out because it is SO COOL. The formula is a little difficult to work with or maybe it’s just this shade (this is my first and only Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip – not sure why I picked out green) as it is the most extreme matte formula my lips have ever felt. A balm is definitely mandatory before application and for about 3 weeks after removal, but it is so worth it! Colourpop is so inexpensive, and offers tons of unique colours, they are my go-to because who wants to spend more then $10 on a lip product you might not use more than a handful of times?

NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme in Transylvania offers the feel of a traditional autumnal lip, while still having a hint of edge and grunge which is my kind of makeup. This shade is a deep violet with a lot of punch! I love how comfortable this formula is (I raved all about them here) and I highly recommend trying this out so you can get comfortable with a colour like this. As with the other deep shades in the Soft Matte Lip Creme line up, it can go on quite streaky, so you have to work in layers and not apply too much product at once. This colour would pair well with so many different types of looks, I can’t wait to play around with it more!

I feel like I haven’t done a round up type of post like this in a very long time! What other kinds of posts would you guys like to see from me? Let’s chat!

What are some of your unexpected lip colour picks for fall? I can’t wait to try more fun shades!
