The Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette has been a cult-favourite palette for quite some time since it was released last year. This palette comes highly recommended for both formula and colour range. It was many people’s favourite palette of 2016, and I honestly thought that the hype was going to die down into the new year. I still see people rave about this palette, so during the Sephora VIB sale, I decided it was time for me to try this palette out for myself!
As all of us beauty junkies know, the Sephora VIB sale just passed. For Beauty Insiders, VIB & VIB Rouge members, it’s a special time that only happens twice a year! 15% off of beauty is kind of a big deal! I always look at this time as a great way to save on essentials and to try something new that I’ve been coveting for a long time. Although my haul isn’t massive, I still spent a fair amount and purchased some items I am SO excited about so wanted to share them with you!
After seeing endless hype for the Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Foundation, I needed to give it a try for myself! This liquid foundation retails for just $8CAD (just $5.99 for my US friends) and is getting so many amazing reviews comparing it to higher-end formulas. So, how could I not be intrigued?
Weirdly enough, this product doesn’t claim much at all. Both the packaging and the Wet n Wild website talk about how it performs under lighting conditions. Basically, this is said to give you camera-ready skin and reduce the white cast caused by photography. Strange claims. There is nothing about coverage, longevity, skin concerns. This was pretty weird to me when I started seriously looking into the product, but for $8 it was worth trying out on my own. I do love that Wet n Wild offers this in 20 shades, which is a great selection! The range does seem to be lacking in selection for darker skin tones, however.
One of my favourite times as a beauty junkie is when the Sephora Spring VIB sale finally rolls around! This event happens only twice a year, and members receive 15% off of everything in-store and online. As I’m a VIB member, the sale begins tomorrow morning, but I’ve been stocking up items in my shopping cart over the last week in preparation for the discount! So today, I thought I’d show you the products I’m coveting.
When I spotted the Real Techniques Ultimate Base Set last week I couldn’t resist picking it up. My intention was to revisit the Miracle Complexion sponge as I have used it in the past (loved it!) and wanted to try it out again. However, this trio lured me in as it contains the sponge and 2 brushes all in a limited-edition set. Unfortunately, as I’m sitting down to write this review, it looks like it’s no longer available! But no need to worry, all of these tools are available individually. So why don’t I let you know my thoughts on the contents?
