MAKEUP FOR GLASSES (Everyday Work Makeup)

If you had told me a year ago that I would be writing this post, I’d think you were crazy! I have never needed glasses until about 6 months ago. I tend to only wear my glasses at work, as they are for screens, so today I’ve got my tips & tricks of how I do my makeup not only to flatter my face with glasses, but this is also a great neutral workday look. It’s important to have a quick, flattering and easy look in your arsenal for everyday. And those products have got to last for a full 8 hours (and beyond!) and I’ve finally found a routine that works well for me, so I wanted to share it with you today.

Primed skin is probably the most essential part of my makeup routine for glasses. Glasses slip & slide down the bridge of my nose and take foundation with them! I also take them off frequently to talk with people or walk around, so my base gets very disrupted. I’ve been working through a sample of Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer which I’ve been loving as it helps with the longevity of my base on the bridge of my nose without feeling heavy.
I personally think the best way to wear makeup for glasses is to use your features to frame the frames! Does that make any sense? I think a structured brow (I’ve been using Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade in Taupe) frames the glasses and brings more shape to the face. It doesn’t have to be too heavy or dramatic, but definition is important! As for contour, we’re not going to heavy once again, but adding shape to the cheeks ties the whole look together. I’ve been using Anastasia Contour Kit in Light to Medium for my everyday contour. These work amazing as eyeshadows too and I’ve used the deeper shades to create definition on my lower lash line in this look.

I like to define the eyes without being too heavy or dramatic. My eyes are quiet small, and so they can get totally lost behind lenses so I make my eyes look wide open with a nude pencil in the waterline using Colourpop Creme Gel Liner in Honey Dude. Dark, defines and lots of lashes really help to open the eyes, so I’m using ELF Waterproof Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara here just on the top lashes. Any colour at all can go with this neutral makeup, and many people tend to suggest bold lips alongside glasses. This is a work look for me, so it’s just easier to wear a nude – easier to touch up, fades away without issues and really works in any situation! Here I’m wearing my current favourite nude lip combo using Bite Beauty The Lip Pencil in 020 and Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip in Weho but any nude will definitely do!
Do you have any tips and tricks for makeup for glasses? I’d love to hear your suggestions!
